In sunny California, home of the new "punk revolution"

there are two schools of thought which can be discerned

from this whole big mess. No, it's not old school and new

school, I know that's what you were thinking. This school is

divided more upon geographic lines -- NorCal punk and

SoCal punk. To make the first of many broad

generalizations, NorCal punk can be stereotyped as

skate-rock, where it's southern counterpart is generally

influenced by and relating to surfers. Now don't get all pissy

yet, there's plenty of other things that I'll say that you can get

mad at later.

One way to back up my broad generalization is to quantify the frequency of SoCal bands

appearing in surf videos and NorCal bands in skate videos, which I will not...
