See The Man Of Steel In Brand New 'Batman V Superman' Photo

Clark, you forgot your underpants again!

A wise man once said that the night is darkest just before the dawn — but the dawn is coming.

Indeed, "Dawn" is on its way, albeit almost two years away. Nevertheless, the Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment forces behind "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" are steadily building up anticipation for their superhero epic, including today's tease: the first official still of Henry Cavill as the Man of Steel.

USA Today debuted the first look at the new Superman design, which, frankly, looks a whole lot like the old Superman design. (Still too cool for outside underpants, Henry? For shame.) But the image comes paired with an even more alluring interview with Zack Snyder, the filmmaker making history by pitting Kal-El and Bruce Wayne together on the big-screen for the very first time.

"You can talk all you want about other superhero movies, but it's Batman and Superman, let's just be honest," he told the outlet. "I don't know how you get bigger than that."

Snyder also confirmed some plot details, including the arrival of Lex Luthor and Gotham City on Superman's radar; the upcoming debut of superheroes like Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher); and the fact that Superman and Batman aren't friends, at least not at first.

He even explained that the "v" instead of "vs." in the film's title serves "to keep it from being a straight 'versus' movie, even in the most subtle way."

"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" hits theaters on May 6, 2016.
