Are Daft Punk Returning In 2017?

We see you, source code full o’ clues!

One word, four numbers, and the internet is a small army of Nancy Drews looking to solve the mystery of Daft Punk's apparently imminent return to the stage.

Thanks to a new website called ALIVE2017 and some coordinates hiding in plain sight, fans of the French robot electro-pop duo are freaking out: It might lay out not only the drop of new music from Daft Punk, but a handful of performances, too.

Genius immediately picked up on not only the name of the site, but also the likelihood of a forthcoming live album, perhaps called Alive 2017, in the tradition of Daft Punk's previous two live albums, Alive 1997 and Alive 2007. After noting the eight-digit countdown ticker over the "I" in ALIVE, Reddit and Tumblr users then went after the site's source code in search of any clues. They weren't disappointed, as the code gave up the coordinates for eight cities: Paris, Los Angeles, London, New York, Tokyo, Sao Paulo, Ibiza, and Indio. (Hi, Coachella!)

Also embedded in the source code: "WAKE DATE 2016-10-27," which also happens to be the date that clock on alive2017.com is counting down to.

HRMMMM. We got lucky when the duo returned on The Weeknd's "Starboy" in September, and it looks like our lucky streak is set to continue.
