Ed Sheeran’s Break Didn’t Stop Him From Singing At A Wedding: Watch

See Ed perform 'Chasing Cars' with Snow Patrol's Johnny McDaid

It’s been eerily quiet on the Ed Sheeran front lately, after he announced last fall that he’s taking a break from music and social media. But the “Photograph” crooner made a rare appearance over the weekend when he teamed up with Snow Patrol’s Johnny McDaid for — what else? — a sweet wedding surprise.

The duo hopped onstage at McDaid’s sister’s wedding reception in Ireland, where they reportedly treated attendees to a 30-minute performance. The romantic setlist included Stevie Wonder’s “Superstition,” Snow Patrol’s 2006 breakout hit “Chasing Cars,” and Sheeran’s own “Tenerife Sea,” a doe-eyed ballad that he and McDaid co-wrote together.

All in all, this is classic Ed Sheeran. He may hate tweeting, but the dude is a sucker for love and engagements and weddings — his storied history as a proposal-helper is all the proof you need.
