The Weeknd has been laying low this summer, but while he’s at work to the follow-up to Beauty Behind the Madness, he took some time to lend vocals to Cashmere Cat’s latest single.

“Wild Love” is a grade-A electronic creepfest that also features Chance the Rapper collaborator Francis and the Lights. The producer lets what sounds like an arcade-game sample drive the beat before braiding in some eerie synthesizers and letting The Weeknd do his thing over the whole chilly arrangement.

It’s definitely not Abel’s typical fare, but his voice sounds amazing here. Maybe “even creepier” is actually the direction The Weeknd needs to go in his own music — who knew?
