The Real Reason Bella Hadid Dyed Her Hair Brown

It's got nothing to do with Gigi

Bella Hadid can't be stopped. Less than 24 hours after appearing in a new fashion campaign, she comes out with her second September cover this year: first Vogue Japan, now Glamour.

Despite being one of the most in-demand models in the world right now, she can't escape being compared to older sister and fellow model Gigi. There's been a long-circulating rumor that Bella dyed her hair dark brown to distinguish herself from her sister, but now she's setting the record straight.

"I didn’t really dye my hair to separate myself from Gigi," she said. "I started dyeing my hair when I was 14. I dyed it black and blue, I wore eyeliner — I was a punk kid. I might want to go blond eventually!"

Another hot topic is her battle with Lyme disease, which her mom revealed she and her brother both suffer from last fall. While Bella works hard to overcome the illness, it occasionally manages to infiltrate her work life.

"It starts with brain fog; for a while I couldn’t put sentences together. I'm really tired a lot," she said. "A few weeks ago I had a big campaign shoot that I had to reschedule. It's hard, but I push through, because at the end of the day, if you're not working, somebody else is."

Well, there's truly no doubt that Bella is working.
