'Girl Meets World' Season 3 Finale Will Feature Both Morgans — But What About The OG Joshua?

This will be the biggest Matthews family reunion ever

Good news, Boy Meets World fans: Both Morgans will be returning for the Season 3 finale of Girl Meets World, the writers confirmed on Tuesday (July 26). No idea how that's gonna play out, but who cares? Lily Nicksay (Seasons 1-2) and Lindsay Ridgeway (Seasons 3-7) will finally rejoin the Matthews family, and we can't wait for the inevitable reunion.

But what about the OG Joshua Matthews? The youngest Matthews sibling joined the BMW family for Season 6 and miraculously aged several years by the finale. In the final episode, Joshua was played by Daniel Jacobs, son of BMW and GMW creator and executive producer Michael Jacobs. On GMW, Joshua is played by Uriah Shelton, but Jacobs apparently stopped by the set and hung out with his TV bro, Ben Savage.

Does this mean Jacobs will appear on an upcoming episode of GMW? He obviously can't reprise his role as Joshua, but it'd be fun to see him back in the world of Cory and Topanga Matthews. Besides, Jacobs was an uncredited kid who seriously creeped out Cory and Topanga before playing Joshua — yeah, we noticed, guys — so having him play another character wouldn't be a huge stretch.

Nothing has been said about Jacobs working on GMW, nor is there anything mentioned on Jacobs's IMDb page right now.

However, the show just wrapped filming its third season — which actually might end up being its last. It'd be quite fitting to have the entire Matthews family together for the finale, as a type of homage to BMW, but I don't want the series to be over already, so never mind.

Rowan Blanchard tweeted out a message to the fans about the state of the show, which can basically be described as "IDK, man." Her TV brother August Maturo shared an Insta video of the studio audience chanting, "One more season!" Naturally, fans are freaking out and demanding their favorite ship become a reality before it's too late. TBH, we have been waiting years for Lucas to make a decision.

The hashtags #DontCancelGirlMeetsWorld and #GMWSeason4WeNeedMore emerged on Twitter, and there's even a Change.org petition with 3,000 signatures. Fans are actively pleading for Disney to renew the series for a fourth season, and we seriously hope they're successful.

The newest episode of Girl Meets World airs Friday, July 29 on Disney Channel.
