Teyana Taylor Basically Becomes Lil' Kim's Identical Twin In This 'Hip Hop Honors' Tribute
Musical tributes can take an array of forms, from a loose interpretation of the artist's work to an attempt at mirroring the original version of a song. For Monday night's Lil' Kim tribute at VH1's Hip Hop Honors, Teyana Taylor chose the second option. And the performance made it look like it was a role she was born to play. The medley started with appearances from Lil Mama and Dej Loaf — who, donning wigs and brightly colored outfits, did an admirable job of celebrating Kim's legacy, too — and also included The Lox and French Montana. She was even in full-on Kimmy mode backstage:
After the performance, Diddy surprised Kim with a tribute of his own.
In addition to Kim, Queen Latifah, Salt-N-Pepa, and Missy Elliott were also honored at the event.
