Meek Mill Responds To Joe Budden's Jabs: ‘He's Been Dead’

Budden mentioned him on the Drake dis, ‘Making a Murderer (Part 1)’

Joe Budden's “Making a Murderer (Part 1)” is a dis track whose energy is almost entirely aimed at Drake, but there is a shot at an Aubrey rival right at the start, too: "I'm right here per your request, now you stuck in them shoes / No alliances with Meek, it's still fuck him, too," Budden raps to open the track.

Meek Mill, it looks like, heard the jab loud and clear and acknowledged as much on Instagram.

"He's been dead since 2003 it's evident .... We don't talk to dead people unless they presidents," he wrote, referencing the year of Budden's breakout hit, "Pump It Up." This is clearly a rhyme, so it could be lifted from a song lyric, but we'll have to wait and see if his response ends there and remains on social media, or actually ends up on a song.

Joe then fired off a few tweets in response.

Before all this happened, Joe spoke with Pitchfork once the song dropped on Thursday and tried to clarify his intentions. “I’m not addressing Drake, or addressing Meek because I am malicious toward either of them or I wish either one of them harm or ill will,” he said. “I am celebrating hip-hop. I want the people who I deem — I want the people who are talented to be talented.”

He may not have malicious feelings toward either, but that doesn't mean he's not down to step inside the lyrical ring.
