Blood Orange’s ‘Augustine’ Video Is A Gorgeous Love Letter To New York City

His new album 'Freetown Sound' is out early

It’s getting harder and harder to depict New York as a real place and not the backdrop for a sitcom, but Blood Orange’s new video for “Augustine” captures everything there is to love about the city.

Dev Hynes dropped his third album as Blood Orange last night (June 27), three days ahead of its scheduled July 1 release. To celebrate, he also put out the beautiful visual for “Augustine” in which he celebrates a time-honored NYC tradition: dancing on rooftops under the sunset.

Joining him around the city are a few more local artists, like Julian Casablancas of The Strokes and Aaron Maine of Porches. Blood Orange’s new album, Freetown Sound, also features some exciting Canadian talent: Nelly Furtado and Carly Rae Jepsen both lend their vocals to the LP, which is streaming now on Spotify, Tidal, and Google Play.
