Alicia Keys Was A One-Woman Band At The BET Awards

She multitasked like a pro for her performance of 'In Common'

Alicia Keys doesn’t need a backup band. She’s got her whole live set under control all by herself.

At the BET Awards last night (June 26), Keys performed her new single, “In Common,” without a backup musician in sight. [Note: BET and MTV News are both owned by Viacom.] She played multiple synthesizers on her own, then effortlessly switched to an acoustic guitar suspended in front of her.

With impeccable timing, the singer powered through the electronic song, hitting sample pads and keys while singing like it was no big deal.

When you’ve got this much coordination, who needs backup musicians?
