Your Favorite Cuddly Dragon Takes Flight In New 'Pete's Dragon' Trailer

Move over, Daenerys

Almost 40 years after the world first met Elliott the Dragon, a new generation will soon be seeing him for the first time in Pete's Dragon, a remake of the 1977 Disney classic, which has a new trailer out today (June 14).

After listening to her father's (Robert Redford) stories about a mysterious dragon residing deep in the woods, forest ranger Grace (Bryce Dallas Howard) has her world turned upside down when a feral child named Pete (Oakes Fegley) is found. He claims he's lived in the forest with his big, green dragon named Elliott — a dragon who sounds suspiciously similar to her father's tall tales.

Once people learn of Elliott's existence, not everyone is super thrilled, and some even want him destroyed. That might be tough to do, however, since Elliott can fly, breathe fire, and turn invisible. Check out the magical trailer below.

Pete's Dragon premieres in theaters August 12, 2016.
