Anyone who came out of Zack Snyder's hellzapoppin' new Superman reboot "Man of Steel" and said, "Man, I could really go for a Justice League movie right now!" Well, you're going to be saying that after a few more movies. In a new interview with the handsome leading man (of steel) Henry Cavill, he reiterates that the proposed "Justice League" movie, which would team Superman with The Flash, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter and Batman, would have to wait a little while.

In a lengthy interview with Rolling Stone film critic Peter Travers, who goes on to ask Cavill about his childhood as a chubby kid (he calls him "Fat Cavill," his boyhood nickname, at the end of the interview) but not about working with Russell Crowe and Amy Adams, Cavill states that the "reality" of the DC Comics Universe, as established in Christopher Nolan's three Batman movies and "Man of Steel" (which Nolan produced and had a hand in writing), could be a problem.

"'Justice League' could be great but it's a very tough one to do because DC Comics heroes are all godlike in their powers," Cavill told Travers. "So in this DC Comics Universe, with this real world setting, is going to be tough to achieve that. It's got to be done very delicately and with a lot of thought. So it won't be right away. I hope it's not right away. It may take more movies and more introductions of characters to set it up. I think it would be great to do but I don't think it's around the corner."

But Cavill does bring up a good point, which is that in the DC Universe as it's currently being established, everyone is so broody and introspective that it's hard to imagine any of them teaming up for some good old fashioned ass-kickery. While this kind of atmosphere may work for individual movies, where the heroes can be tortured and isolated, it essentially kills any chance of having them get together at a later date. (Note to DC: this is why some lightness in these movies may end up benefiting you tenfold down the line. They are called comic books for a reason.) The question of what DC will do with Green Lantern is also super interesting considering how badly that movie (with Ryan Reynolds) bombed. If "Man of Steel" taught them anything, though, it's that people will respond to a good reboot.
