'Don Jon' Trailer: Some People Love Porn, Some People Don't

No need to adjust your screen; this is not, we repeat, not the "Jersey Shore" ... although we totally get it why someone might be confused for a sec. There is a very "GTL"-esque vibe going down when the titular guido character in Joseph Gordon-Levitt's "Don Jon" repeatedly declares, "there's only a few things I really care about in life: my body, my pad, my ride, my family, my church, my boys, my girls and my porn." Well, alright then.

Gordon-Levitt, in his writer-directorial debut, stars as a twenty-something New Jersey bachelor who's got a very skewed view of romance thanks to his frequency of adult website visits. He somehow meets the girl of his naughty dreams in Scarlett Johansson's gum-smacking Barbara, but she's got the opposite problem of him — she's been conditioned to think of relationships as all kissing in the rain and slurping up a shared spaghetti noodle to a live rendition of "This is the Night" ... you get the gist.

So, imagine her surprise when she waltzes in on her Mr. Jon (a rather unsubtle digital-age derivation of the legendary lady libertine Don Juan, yet not nearly as smooth) engaging in his favorite solo pastime. Ruh roh. Both will need to reevaluate their own expectations and understandings of the opposite sex if anything is to improve, but whether D.J. boy will even bother is a big question mark indeed.

"Don Jon," which originally debuted at Sundance, with this little move and rockin' selfie by Gordon-Levitt, will hit theaters on Oct. 18.
