Hellboy: Now more angel than demon?

Ron Perlman made a hospitalized child's dream come true as he visited the boy in full makeup as the wisecracking comic book character, according to Heat Vision.

Zachary, a six-year-old who's being treated for leukemia, had expressed to the Make-a-Wish Foundation his desire to "meet and become Hellboy." Spectral Motion, the creature effects house that brought many of the characters in director Guillermo del Toro's two "Hellboy" films to life, then approached Perlman, who "loved the idea and donned the makeup once more," according to the company's Facebook page.

Perlman, who played the role in "Hellboy" (2004) and "Hellboy II: The Golden Army" (2008), surprised the delighted Zachary, who got to hang out with his hero for the day and undergo the makeup process to become Hellboy himself.

If there's been cooler news than this all week, we haven't heard it. We want to give everyone involved with making this happen a great big Hellboy-sized hug. Did a nurse tell Hellboy that he couldn't smoke his cigar in the hospital? Did Hellboy tell tales of the monsters he fought that morning before stopping by? We wish we could've been there.
