New 'Amazing Spider-Man' Video Is Cold-Blooded

With "The Avengers" crushing the box office and fans breathlessly awaiting the final installment of Christopher Nolan's "Dark Knight" trilogy, this year is shaping up to be the best ever for fans of superhero comics.

But there's a third superhero film ready to make waves this summer — and if this brand new behind-the-scenes clip is any indication, "The Amazing Spider-Man" isn't going to take a back seat to anything.

Sorry, Loki and Bane. But this year, the scales are tipped towards The Lizard.

Yes, after months of speculation, rumor and brief teases, Marvel is finally letting fans get up close and personal with The Lizard. Played by veteran Welsh actor Rhys Ifans, The Lizard is actually Dr. Curt Connors, a former partner to Pater Parker's mysteriously missing dad. During an experiment to try and regrow his missing arm using lizard DNA, Connors totally makes a mess of things a turns himself into a huge green monster.

But why not let the man — and the monster — explain it himself? Courtesy of The Hollywood Reporter, here's a brand new clip featuring Ifans personally explaining in detail the secrets behind The Lizard. You'd have to be pretty cold-blooded not to get excited by this one:
