Nikki Reed is more than just one of the stars of "The Twilight Saga." She's also more than just a 23-year-old actress who just married an "American Idol" contestant after a whirlwind, seven-month romance.
Some -- sadly, not all -- remember that Nikki was the star and one of the writers of her semi-autobiographical film, "Thirteen," which came out in 2003. Of course, many others have heard her latest writing project, a song she penned and performs with husband Paul McDonald which premiered on Ryan Seacrest's show earlier this week. So, as the end of "Twilight" approaches, are movies or music down the pipeline for her?
"[I'm looking for] career in writing music hopefully," she told NextMovie exclusively during the NYC premiere of "Breaking Dawn - Part 1." "Paul has such a beautiful voice. I sang with him because he wanted me to and I was hoping to just quietly compliment his voice. I'm definitely not looking to be the lead singer of a band but it is nice to know that you can collaborate with someone that you love."
A new screenplay isn't far behind either.
"I'm working on something right now. I'm taking my time with it. It's quite personal, not autobiographical, but close to me in a different sense, but I'm trying to be very gentle with it," she admitted.
Taking a maternal page from Rosalie Cullen's playbook, however, doesn't seem to be on her mind. She cited having a much younger brother as teaching her to be a great babysitter and admitted, "I like kids, I like working with kids, I like being around kids," but didn't say anything about having little Renesmees of her own.
