When the clock strikes midnight tonight, the movie event of your lifetime will have begun. And to celebrate a decade of "Harry Potter" magic, both literal and figurative, we've been polling fans from around the world to find out just what their favorite "Harry Potter" films, heroes, villains and teachers are.

So here they are, the Ultimate Results of the Ultimate "Harry Potter" Poll -- and the winners may surprise you.

Of course, the winner of the favorite film vote isn't a huge surprise; after all, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1" is both the most recent entry in the series as well as the one on everyone's mind as "Part 2" arrives in theaters tonight. And there was also little disagreement on the least favorite film, as "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" came in last on the favorite poll and first on the least favorite poll.

More surprising, though, is the fact that Chris Columbus came in second in the favorite director category (behind overwhelming winner David Yates) despite the fact that the two Columbus films, "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" and "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets," received less votes combined in the favorite film category than third place finisher Alfonso Cuaron's lone film, "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" (which, by the way, came in second in the favorite film category over "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" by just four votes).

Other categories were also quite close: Bellatrix Lestrange, for instance, beat out Draco Malfoy for best villain by just three percent (31% to 28%), while Neville Longbottom edged Luna Lovegood by the same margin (33% to 30%) to take the title of character we most want to see in a spin-off.

And in the favorite teacher category, things were as close as they can get, as Professor McGonagall and Professor Lupin managed an exact tie, with each receiving 28.27% of the vote.
