Here's What Proto Zoa From 'Zenon' Looks Like Now

He'll make your heart go boom, boom.

Sing it with me, friends: ? Zoom zoom zoom, make my heart go boom boom, my supernova girl ?

Proto Zoa (Phillip Rhys) made his intergalactic debut in 1999 when Disney Channel released Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century, the first of three Zenon original movies. His lunarious voice and famous spiky hair won over Zenon, her BFF Nebula, and everyone's favorite frenemy, Margie. Let's step in a time machine and take a blast to the past, shall we?

Here's Proto Zoa's breakout hit song, "Supernova Girl."

And here's his follow-up single, "The Galaxy is Ours."

He even had his own doll!

Zenon

Since the OG Zenon and its sequel wrapped in 2001 -- 15 years ago! Do you feel ancient yet? -- actor and director Rhys has been in several movies and TV shows. First came Flatland and 24 in 2002. Then came Nip/Tuck from 2003 to 2005. Brief appearances in NCIS, Bones, and CSI, among other roles, followed.

Rhys was even on episodes of Glee and Doctor Who! Most recently, he directed his first short film, The Scarecrow, starring Sandra Oh and Darren Pettie.

The frosted tips thankfully didn't make it past Zenon. Here's what Rhys looks like now:
