Hear Willow Smith Channel Jimi Hendrix On A Previously Unreleased Track

'Jimi' was recorded in Hendrix's New York studio.

Willow Smith just released her debut album last fall, but she’s not done sharing new music.

The “Whip My Hair” singer put out the previously unreleased track “Jimi” on Saturday (February 20), which she originally recorded when she was 12 years old.

"I recorded this song in Jimi Hendrix's studio in NY when I was 12,” Willow wrote on Instagram. “Jimi” doesn’t see her pick up a left-handed guitar or shred any riffs, but some of Hendrix’s smooth psychedelic vibes definitely rubbed off on her in the space.

“Let’s look out at the stars and see who we are,” sings Willow on the philosophical R&B track, which boasts a production credit from the Smiths’ beat-maker of choice, AzZi. Listen to “Jimi” below.
