After years of waiting for "Jane Got a Gun" to escape the limbo of the can and see the light of a movie projector, the film starring Natalie Portman is finally hitting theaters this month.

And in advance of its big, long-awaited premiere, EW has an exclusive clip of a scene from "Jane Got a Gun," in which Jane does, in fact, have a gun.

Y'know, just in case you were wondering whether the title was some kind of absurd farce.

The clip features Jane (Natalie Portman) taking aim alongside Dan Frost (Joel Edgerton), as she tries to wield a handgun with less-than-favorable results. But when she picks up a rifle, it becomes clear that Jane not only got a gun, but also knows how to use it.

"Jane Got a Gun" will be in theaters January 29.
