She's shaken up the status quo at award shows (Miley, what's good?), upstaged Kanye West on his own track (and Rick Ross and Jay Z, too) and shifted between alter egos like a colorful chameleon. For those reasons -- and plenty of others -- Nicki Minaj has, in a very short time, become one of hip-hop's modern greats.

Queen Latifah thinks so, too.

In a clip from the upcoming VH1 Big In 2015 special airing on Monday, December 7, the Queen honored Nicki with a slew of huge compliments, calling her a "force within the hip-hop community" and, eventually, "one of the greats."

"You've become an inspiration everywhere," the Queen said to Nicki, who was seated next to her with Meek Mill by her side. "I love how you were never afraid to speak your mind. You're a strong woman. You refuse to be backed into a corner."

We definitely know that's true.

This isn't the first Queen-Nicki interaction to capture our attention. At the BET Awards in 2011 -- back when Nicki rocked a bob -- the two caught up and presumably exchanged life stories, or something. After all, in the Queen's 26 years in the industry, she certainly has a lot of advice to offer.

Of course, Nicki's a trailblazer in her own right. Everybody knows that -- and none do more than Queen L.
