‘Girls’ Season 5 Trailer: Here Comes The Bride

New boyfriends, new dye jobs and new nuptials.

When we last saw the “Girls” gang, our fave self-centered Brooklynites were in the midst of major life transitions: Hannah (Lena Dunham) left Adam (Adam Driver) in the dust to hook up with Nice Guy Fran (Jake Lacy); Shoshanna (Zosia Mamet) boldly decided to move to Japan for a new job; Jessa (Jemimah Kirke) announced her random plan to become a therapist; and the ever-irritating Marnie (Allison Williams) was abandoned by her even-more-irritating bandmate Desi (Ebon Moss-Bachrach).

Now, we’ve been given the first extended look at the show’s fifth season, and one thing’s abundantly clear: This crew is growing up and moving apart, but damn if they don’t always come back together to make up, break up and call each other out on their bullsh-t.

In the new trailer (soundtracked by Genevieve's "Colors," BTW), we see Hannah making Fran hella uncomfortable by swapping spit with her apparently-not-100%-gay BFF Elijah (Andrew Rannells). There’s also Jessa delivering some cold real talk and Shoshanna livin’ it up in Japan, sporting a dope new dye job and Hello Kitty headphones. Blink and you’ll miss Adam, but he’s there, along with the newly-elected Ray (Alex Karpovsky).

But the most shocking development here is that Marnie’s apparently decided to get hitched (in some frankly tragic makeup) to someone “she barely knows,” according to Hannah. Sounds like a fight between these two frenemies is brewing — and it’s sure to be a must-see.

The fifth season of “Girls” premieres Feb. 21 on HBO.
