9 Essential Pop-Punk Christmas Songs

Because Christmas can rock out too.

by Katie Kausch

Christmas is (objectively speaking) the most wonderful time of the year. Between the sparkling lights, hot chocolate and lots of presents, it's nothing but happiness all December. If you're anything like me, though, the non-stop Christmas music can be a little sappy -- so what's a person to do when they need to rock out and feel the Christmas spirit at the same time?

Thankfully, your favorite pop-punk bands have the solution. For those moments when you need to combine your love of all things Christmas and your ~*~angst~*~, here are the nine best pop-punk Christmas songs:

"Yule Shoot Your Eye Out" - Fall Out Boy

Dreading seeing an ex when you go home for Christmas break? Fall Out Boy's got you covered with this Christmas themed break-up song.

"White Christmas" - Panic! At The Disco

The shortest song on this list at just over a minute and a half, this pint-sized portion of holiday spirit is the perfect balance between traditional and P!ATD's killer vocals.

"The Lights and the Buzz" - Jack's Mannequin

Written for the first holiday after lead singer Andrew McMahon's life-saving stem cell transplant, it's hard not to get emotional when he sings, "It's good to be alive."

"Santa Stole My Girlfriend" - The Maine

Sometimes Santa gives you presents... sometimes he steals your girlfriend. It happens, apparently. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

"30 Days" - Nevershoutnever

All Christofer Drew wants for Christmas is for his love to be thinking of him too -- could you get any more romantic than that?

"I Don't Wanna Spend Another Christmas Without You" - The Ready Set

The Ready Set (and those cookie's he's trying to bake in the video) could really use his bae visiting him this December 25th.

"Merry Christmas, Kiss My Ass" - All Time Low

Your parents will totally love you blasting this song during your annual family Christmas party, trust me.

"12 Days of Christmas" - Relient K

For anyone who has ever listened to the "12 Days of Christmas" and thought, "Who in the world wants that many birds?" Relient K feels your pain.

"All I Want For Christmas Is You" - My Chemical Romance

My Chemical Romance covering a Mariah Carey song shouldn't work -- and yet, it really does. This song is great for letting someone know you want to be with them for the holidays, but aren't willing to give up guitars in the name of Christmas.
