'The Walking Dead': 11 Things That Need To Happen In The Midseason Finale

Sorry, Carl.

It may be hard to believe this as you recover from turkey hangover, but we're only a couple of days away from the Season 6 midseason finale of "The Walking Dead."

Now, this may not sound like a huge deal to the uninformed, but "Walking Dead" midseason finales tend to be huge -- remember last year, when we lost Beth?! This year is shaping up to be even bigger than that, with hundreds of zombies ready to tear through Alexandria, a Wolf hiding out in Morgan's (Lennie James) basement, Carl (Chandler Riggs) on the brink of being shot for no good earthly reason, and Glenn (Chandler Riggs), Daryl (Norman Reedus), Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green) and Abraham (Michael Cudlitz) currently unable to help any of them.

So, with all of that madness in mind, here's what we think -- and hope -- will go down on Sunday night:

Morgan should choose a side.

Is he down with killing the bad guys? Ready to resign himself to a life of Wolf attacks? Either way, he knows what Rick's group is all about at this point, so it's time for him to decide once and for all if this is where he wants to be.

... And he should let that scraggly hipster Wolf out of the basement, too.

Or just leave him there, and let him get torn alive by walkers. Whichever way it goes, it's half past death o'clock for the Alpha Wolf.

Carl should get shot by Ron.

Carl got shot in Alexandria in Robert Kirkman's comics -- under different circumstances, sure, but it happened. It will help him grow as a character, at least, and hopefully result in Ron dying horribly. Which brings us to...

Ron should die, horribly.

Teen angst has no place in the zombie apocalypse. Bye, Ron. You were cute in "Paper Towns?"

The Grimes Gang should slaughter TF out of those walkers.

We haven't seen Rick, Michonne, Carol, Daryl, and the rest of the Grimes Gang warriors fighting side-by-side in quite some time. They're due a good slaughter.

Rick should decide to devote everything to Alexandria.

Rick seems to be inching closer and closer to the conclusion that Alexandria is his -- and his Gang's -- permanent home now. (Jessie is helping.) And since we've already seen the Gang flee Hershel's farm and the prison when the going got tough, it just makes more narrative sense to switch things up, and spend the rest of our time making Alexandria work in sickness and in health.

... Even if Deanna has to die in the process.

Look, she's a nice lady, and Tovah Feldshuh has been fantastic in the role. But she also needs to refill that Celexa prescription ASAP, and her grip on reality has been a little bit lacking since "JSS." There's a new sheriff in town, and he doesn't have time to sit around and discuss what Alexandria will be like after the apocalypse is over. It's never going to be "over."

Maggie and Glenn should reunite and cry so, so many tears.

This one is self-explanatory. No matter how you feel about the series' decision to pull the Glenn fake-out, now that's it's all said and done, it's officially time for a semi-earned emotional moment. (Think Carol reuniting with Daryl/Rick with Judith after the escape from Terminus.)

Rosita should take a stand.

Did Abraham dump her for Sasha? And if he did, does it really matter? Because either way, it was nice seeing Christian Serratos go full-on drill sergeant last week, as we've always suspected that there's way more to this perpetual sidekick that we haven't gotten a chance to see.

Carol should just keep on being Carol.

No complaints in the Carol department -- not now, not ever. As long as Carol just keeps on Caroling, we'll be happy.

And finally, Rick should show a blatant disregard for Father Gabriel again, because that was hilarious.

Boy, what a time to be alive.
