Miley Cyrus Wears Tinsel And Glitter To Perform 'Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds'

A few days ago, Miley Cyrus posted a picture on Instagram of her feet covered with sequins and the words "Dirty Hippy" with absolutely no context. We just assumed she was up to one of her typically crazy antics (it would rank among Miley's tamer moves, TBH). But after watching Miley and the Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne perform "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds" at tonight's Billboard Awards, those glammed up toesies make a lot more sense.
Although the duet occurred last Wednesday, tonight's airing was the first time we mere mortals (aka non-Bangerz Tour ticket holders) got to witness the Beatles cover. Miley and Wayne both took the whole psychedelic "tangerine trees and marmalade skies" imagery and ran with it, wearing tinsel coats on a tinsel stage in front of a tinsel backdrop.
We are used to seeing Miley in a leotard (see: her entire Bangerz wardrobe), but Wayne decided to spandex it up alongside her this time, wearing the same muscle-print bodysuit he wore during yesterday's Hangout Festival performance. He even joined Miley in barefooted bliss—although it looks like he left his foot jewels at home. Isn't it just so adorable when besties share high-profile celebrity stylists?
