Amy Adams Talks Suiting Up As Amelia Earhart For 'Night At The Museum 2'

Of course, a few days later, our guess was confirmed. And Amy Adams was besides herself with grief and remorse, for not having given us the scoop first. Or not. "I know, I know," she apologized when we reconvened for a night at the Museum of the Moving Image, for a tribute to Ben Stiller. "I just wanted to be respectful of the production."

So what happens to Amelia Earhart at the Smithsonian, given that the plane she flew on her non-stop solo flight across the Atlantic is part of the exhibit? This time, Adams didn't mind dishing a bit: "She gets to fly again."

Adams said she had a a blast on set, mostly because she had trouble keeping her focus since Stiller and Bill Hader did impressions of "Museum" director Shawn Levy to keep people laughing. But overall, she said, Stiller was "very serious and very professional and very about making the work the best it can be."

Stiller was also so "generous," she joked, "that whenever he had a line of exposition, he gave it to me. He're really generous, and because of him, my screen time is doubled."

Adams loved playing Earhart because "she has so much energy, and such a sense of adventure, and so much confidence." Even though she's played a wide array of characters in "Enchanted," "Junebug," and the upcoming Oscar-buzzed "Doubt," "I realized it's the first time I've played a really confident character."

Does the addition of characters like Earhart make you look forward to a return trip to the "Museum"? Let us know below.
