Winona Ryder Is Just As Curious About That 'Beetlejuice' Sequel As You Are

"I just want to know."

How long are you willing to wait for a thing you want really, really bad? Tim Burton's classic "Beetlejuice" came out in 1988, so the answer for us is "27 years," because we really, really want a sequel.

In recent years, we've been taunted with the prospect of a new installment of the beloved movie. Nearly a year ago, director Tim Burton told MTV News he was in to direct one, and Michael Keaton said he'd be up for a two-fer as well, but there was no script.

As Winona Ryder revealed on MTV News' Josh Horowitz's Happy Sad Confused podcast this week, she'd also be in, and she's in the same boat as we are: she just wants to news already.

After saying that she felt like her character lacked some sort of closure at the end of the movie, Ryder said how excited

"The last that I heard was Tim called and he was like -- you know these days because of hacking everything has to be hard copy, he was going to send me something and then he called and said I just want to work on Lydia a little," she said. "I don't know. What I know is that, and I'm sure you know the same thing, is the writer was like, 'let me try.' And Tim was like OK if it's good. But the thing that you showed me it sounded like he was really excited."

She just really, really wants to know what's up. Are we doing this thing, guys?

"I'm gonna call him. I just want to know."

Let us know what he says. We want to know too.
