Skylar Grey Gets Really, Really, Really Ridiculously Lucky In Her Daft Punk Cover Video

Win a game show and hit No. 1 in the same day? NBD.

We're starting to feel like the music game's Michael Corleone over here when it comes to "Get Lucky" covers -- just when we thought we were out, they pull us back in. So it goes with the latest Daft Punk homage to drop, this time from Skylar Grey. In all fairness, Grey has spent so much time writing songs for other people, it only seems right that she'd get to take a crack at someone else's.

Grey has been on her grind for a long time now and has worked with everyone from Diddy and Jay Z to T.I., Dr. Dre, and even Marilyn Manson. We last saw her goofing around with Eminem in her "C'mon Let Me Ride" video. Here, although she leaves much of the summer jam's swinging disco intact, Skylar does add in more sweeping electronic touches, upping the already pretty heavy robotic funk quotient considerably.

In the video, Skylar takes the title of the song literally and ends up having pretty much the BEST DAY EVER. She wins a car on a game show (slick product placement there), nails a hole in one at mini golf and hears her own song go to No. 1 on the radio. She also wins a pile of Academy Awards, comes home to a wedding proposal from a hunky fireman boyfriend, and, probably the least believable of all, hits only green lights on the way to her Hollywood home. We can only suspend our disbelief so much, people.

Also, it's probably not a coincidence that Skylar Grey, who was born Holly Brook Hafermann, chose a "Breaking Bad"-alluding stage name. Skylar and Holly? It's all connected! The secret to the "Breaking Bad" finale is hidden somewhere in this video. We just know it. If you need us, we're gonna go back and re-watch the clip upwards of 10,000 times until we figure it out -- and then probably go buy a Nissan. Don't know why, but we're all of a sudden overcome with the insatiable urge to drive one.
