First, Kanye West stepped out with practically bald model chick Amber Rose on his arm (and, recently, across his lap). Then, P. Diddy protege Cassie took a razor to her pretty little head last week, explaining, via Twitter (of course):

"Sometimes in life, you need a change... Something deeper than what you thought you were capable of ... Something that displays the 'I don't give a f---' attitude that was always present, but never showcased ... & something that will shock your mother, but make her call you a ROCK STAR."

We couldn't agree more. Though Cassie didn't quite go all the way, opting instead of half a bald head, here are more females in music who went all baldylocks on all. Remember: Bald chicks need love too!

Amber Rose

Amber isn't just known for her bare scalp, but also her bare... assets. She's appeared in music videos for Ludacris ("What Them Girls Like") and Young Jeezy ("Vacation"), and she can currently be seen on the arm of one Kanye West.

Sinead O'Connor

Perhaps the most famous bald woman in modern history, Irish singer Sinead O'Connor became an international sensation with her breakthrough hit "Nothing Compares 2 U." She became even more well-known when she performed on Saturday Night Live and tore up a picture of the Pope on live TV in 1992, pissing off Catholics everywhere. Naturally Sinead, um, became a priest.

Natalie Portman

Though not usually thought of for her musical skills, dudes in bands ALWAYS wanna do her. Plus, Natalie did prove her viable rap talents on Saturday Night Live. The V For Vendetta actress went bald for that film and has been linked to fellow baldie Moby and Devendra Banhart -- and she appeared in his video for "Carmensita." Natalie also proved that even hairless, she's still so hot it's not even normal.

Skin of Skunk Anansie

They didn't call her "Skin" for nothin.' Bold and bald singer Deborah Dyer fronted the English rockers until their break-up in 2001. However, Skunk Anansie recently reformed and two shows they played in London in early 2009 sold out in 20 minutes, proving that Skin is still in.

Meshell Ndegeocello

Meshell Ndegeocello's known for her lack of hair and impossible-to-spell name. But it's not just her naked cranium that'll stop a crowd -- her complex blend of jazz, funk, soul, hip-hop, reggae, R&B and rock has earned her several Grammy nominations, AND, she also has a bad-ass eye tat!

Tyra Banks

Why is Tyra Banks on this list? Everyone knows Tyra from her TV shows, but is also a singer -- sort of -- too. In 2004, she recorded her first single, "Shake Ya Body," which was, inarguably, a flop and sounded like a rejected Beyonce track. (Watch the video at the bottom of this post, if you're in the mood for self-punishment.) And she's also credited for singing the theme song to America's Next Top Model as well as a single with... Kobe Bryant? But what brought her to baldness? During an episode of ANTM, where the contestants were asked to don bald caps for a challenge, Tyra one-upped them all by simply removing her wig to reveal her baby's-butt-smooth noggin. Fierce? -Ish?

Britney Spears

Not all shorn locks are associated with good. When Britney Spears took shears to her signature blonde hair, it officially put her on the crazy train. But after Britney went bald, things seemed to go on the up and up: she reached a divorce settlement with Kevin Federline and released her fifth album Blackout that same year. So does bald make you better? It just might.
