8 Times 'Seven' Was Actually Kind Of A Happy Movie

Detective bromance, special deliveries, and the refreshing scent of pine.

Twenty years ago, "Seven" (or "Se7en," if you like your movie titles written as unpronounceably as possible) came blazing into theaters, taking us all on a terrifying ride of biblical proportions.

The debut feature film of director David Fincher, "Seven" followed seasoned detective Somerset (Morgan Freeman) and his newbie partner, Mills (Brad Pitt) as they investigated a series of murders based on the seven deadly sins -- murders committed by a killer who remained, tragically, a step ahead of them all the way to the end.

And because of that ending, you'd be forgiven for thinking that Fincher's dark thriller is pretty much the most depressing movie you've ever had the misfortune of watching. But, um, actually? "Seven" isn't all gloom and doom! It's also full of wonderful, uplifting moments that celebrate the good stuff in life. Stuff like...

A sweet law enforcement bromance.

Remember when Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt slept together on a leather couch? Adorbs.

Young Brad Pitt, being all Pitt Perfect.

That smile! Swoon.

Cute married-couple vibes.

You just know that these two are going to be together for the rest of their lives. Their long, happy lives that will definitely not end in an untimely and violent way.

A breath of fresh air.

This scene gets a bad rap when it's clearly a heartfelt homage to the delightful scent of pine.

High-quality executive leather furniture.

And this one: Such impeccable office design!

Reliable delivery guys.

Forget about what's in the box, that was some seriously on-point parcel service. A+ delivering, delivery man!

Surprise gifts.

surprise

Oooh, what's in the box? I hope it's something pretty.

And of course, beautifully filmed moments of total human depravity.

This entire scene is like a gorgeous Andrew Wyeth painting come to life, which almost makes up for the part where it is legitimately the worst thing ever to happen in any movie, ever... almost.
