It's really, really impossible to know the "right way" to mourn the events of September 11, 2001 every year -- because life is messy, and there is no right way to mourn anything, as tragedy and loss are processed differently by each and every living person.
However, we must give props to those who spend every year commemorating those we lost by giving back, as multiple celebrities did this year at the BGC Charity Day, which was founded in 2005 to raise money for the Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund and other nonprofits. These celebs come in to the BGC offices both in New York City and around the globe to man their phones and speak with clients, with all the money they make -- $113 million has been raised since '05 -- being donated to charities.
