From what we've already seen via "The Walking Dead" San Diego Comic-Con trailer and special poster, season six is going to be a doozy for fans who were looking forward to a joyous reunion between Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and his very first apocalypse friend, Morgan (Lennie James). Just because, you know, the "joyous" part gets completely eliminated from the equation, in favor of what appears to be an all-out war.
New key art for the season released today (September 9) doesn't give us any additional hope for anything good between Rick and Morgan -- and the rest of the Alexandria community, for that matter. Instead, we see a Rick who is pensively poised to use his gun, and we'd put money on the fact that this goes for living and breathing humans, in addition to, well, the walking dead:
... Then there's this new character portrait, which all but confirms that Rick and Morgan are going to beef like there's no tomorrow. (And to be fair, on this show, there kind of isn't.)
A couple of other pictures from the show's October 11 premiere feature both Rick and Glenn (Steven Yeun) in various states of injury and violence, so yeah -- get ready for an Alexandria showdown, folks:
