Oh, Justin Bieber... you’re just full of surprises.
As he recently proved during an appearance on “The Tonight Show,” JB’s a natural on the drums (as well as a lot of other instruments). And he recently took his rhythmic talents to quite the unexpected place: Angola, Indiana.
While patrons were kicking back, enjoying a seemingly regular night at popular dive bar The Venue, Justin was reportedly there playing an arcade game. But despite hiding beneath his favored black hat and hoodie, he couldn’t keep incognito for long. Someone spotted him, word spread, and chaos ensued.
Heidi Herber, a member of Bonafide, the cover band playing at The Venue that night, told local TV station WANE that the bar even had to call the police for extra security.
“It was a social media frenzy. The phones started to come out,” Herber said. “Social media is extremely powerful.”
Still, Herber said, Justin seemed like he was just trying to blend in.
“He just looked like a normal kid in the bar, except for the hat and hoodie,” she said. “We had no idea [he was going to be there], in fact, he was one of the first people in bar.”
After posing for pics with overjoyed (and probably hella confused) patrons, Justin asked the members of Bonafide if he could play the drums with them. Their response? Yes, obviously!
Justin was reportedly in the area visiting a friend, whom The Venue hinted was his pal Rory Kramer. The bar also added on Facebook that Justin was in town attending the Auctions America auction in Auburn, Ind.
Afterward, Justin had nothing but glowing things to say about his unexpected Indiana vaca.
So what have we learned today, Beliebers? Justin showing up at your local small town’s hotspot is apparently not totally impossible. “Never say never.”
