Lil B Admits To Being Transphobic And Challenges Himself To Be More Accepting

The California rapper regrets sending an offensive tweet.

During her courageous speech at the 2015 ESPYs, Caitlyn Jenner explained that she hoped to shine a spotlight on the plight of transgender individuals -- especially teenagers who are struggling with their identities. The fact that she delivered this speech at a sports award ceremony was monumental enough, but now we need this to bleed over into music.

This week, for example, Lil B showed us that hip-hop still has a long way to go in terms of accepting transgender individuals.

It's not a stretch to say that the California rapper is one of the more progressive rappers in this generation, but he sent one very distasteful tweet about transgender individuals this week, that he regretted shortly afterwards.

After receiving criticism for the tweet, the Basedgod apologized, but still seemed to be missing the point.

But he didn't understand his mistake right away.

He seemed to be confused about the difference between being gay and transgender. So one fan took time to explain it.

Eventually, he admitted to being transphobic. And promised that he would try his best to become more accepting.
