Finally, Say Hello To Your New 'Ghostbusters' Squad By Name

Goodbye to Spengler, Stantz, Venkman and Zeddmore.

"Ghostbusters" director Paul Feig has kept it pretty cool for months now, slowly rolling out details about the upcoming franchise reboot for drooling fans (e.g. me).

First it was the car, then the costumes, then the inevitable cameo. Now, it's the characters themselves.

Feig took to Twitter last night (July 18) to answer a fan's question about what the characters -- played by an SNL-heavy cast of Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones -- would be named in the film.

Erin Gilbert, Jillian Holtzmann, Abby Yates and Patty Tolan. OK, no real surprises or eccentricities there, and it's quite likely that you know a person (or several people) with those exact names. But now the question becomes: Who's who on this new #squad?

Well, a Feig tweet from Friday revealed McKinnon as Holtzmann, so we know that.

There seems to be a pretty solid fan foundation for assuming Wiig is Gilbert, McCarthy is Yates and Jones is Tolan, though those haven't been *officially* confirmed yet.

"Ghostbusters" is out next summer, but in the meantime, check out this sweet fan art for Jones' character from Twitter user Hugo Maldonado. He promised there's one of McCarthy's character in the works, so stay tuned for that.
