Margot Robbie Reveals What You Do When Jared Leto Sends You A Live Rat

How could she give up a present from Mistah J?

Jared Leto's really been getting into character as the Joker to prepare for filming "Suicide Squad" -- but he's not the only one.

Late last month, co-star Adam Beach (who plays Slipknot) told E! that Leto had sent gifts to the cast of the new DC comics movie to apologize for his absence on set. Except, they weren't the gifts you'd necessarily want to get, because they weren't from Leto as himself -- they were from the Joker.

First, the entire cast was sent a video from Leto in character, along with a dead hog. Then, Will Smith got his own personal note with a bullet enclosed. And Margot Robbie, who plays the Joker's companion Harley, received a "nice love letter with a black box with a rat in it -- a live rat," Beach said.

So what did Margot Robbie do with a live rat? Although some crew members suggested killing the animal, she revealed to Elle that she instead decided to adopt it as her pet, and now feeds it organic berries from Whole Foods.

"If Harley got something from Joker, she'd probably cherish it," she explained. She's even given the little guy a name -- "Rat Rat."

Jeez, as if Robbie weren't already perfect for Harley Quinn as it is!

We might not have seen much of her trademark humor and devotion to the Joker in the very first trailer for "Suicide Squad" from Comic-Con, but we're feeling pretty optimistic that Robbie's up to the challenge. What do you think?

"Suicide Squad" laughs its way into theaters August 5, 2016.
