R&B princess Tinashe and surfer crooner Cody Simpson: seems like kind of an unlikely pairing, right? Well, in the name of fashion, these two sizzling up-and-comers have joined forces and given us a surprise summer jam thanks to Denim & Supply Ralph Lauren.

Cody and Tinashe have teamed up for a music video promoting the edgy line’s fall 2015 campaign, in which they raided New York City’s legendary Electric Lady Studios and remade the 1970s classic “Express Yourself.” Originally sung by Charles Wright & The Watts 103rd Street Rhythm Band, Cody and Tinashe keep the track’s soulful grooves in tact while adding their own signature flourishes; namely, Cody’s guitar chops and T’s hypnotizing vocals.

The pair are accompanied by a backing band and a crew of carefree models — including It Girls Bella Hadid and Hailey Baldwin — all of whom rock the line’s casual, rustic style: think layered jewelry, flannel, tribal prints, and denim galore.

Even though the tone of the clip is super fun and light-hearted, it IS worth pointing out that things may have gotten a little weird with Cody and Bella on set together (she’s the older sister of his ex, Gigi). However, Tinashe was teasing this collab way back in April (a month before Cody and Gigi announced their split), so hopefully things weren’t too awk during filming.

Cody recently dropped his breezy new album Free, while Tinashe is working on her sophomore album and gearing up for Nicki Minaj’s The Pinkprint Tour.
