‘Doctor Strange’ Might Have Just Cast Its Lead Supervillain
He's been nominated for an Oscar. He works pretty frequently for the BBC. One time, he starred as the villain in one of the nerdiest movies ever. And now, FINALLY he's being cast in a Marvel movie, specifically "Doctor Strange."
And nooooo, I'm not talking about Benedict Cumberbatch.
According to Deadline, "12 Years A Slave" star Chiwetel Ejiofor has been cast in the role of Baron Mordo, the Transylvanian nemesis of Doctor Stephen Strange.
However, this version of Mordo is not expected to be a full-on villain -- Deadline also claims that he's "an amalgamation of characters culled from Doctor Strange's mythology." Considering that the last big casting rumor involved Tilda Swinton playing an ancient mystical force who acts as Strange's mentor, we wouldn't be that surprised if this turned out to be true as well.
Here's what we're really curious about, though -- will Ejiofor have to wear Mordo's dorky-yet-iconic green outfit?
Don't lie, he'd look good in it.
"Doctor Strange" hits theaters November 4, 2016.
