Shane West Bought A Camaro To Remember His Walk As A Nicholas Sparks Heartthrob

He won't have to walk to remember his heartbreaker status.

If you ever dreamed of hopping into Landon Carter's pretty little sports car and hitting the Carolina-Virginia border to stand in two places at the same time and recreate all the sweet in "A Walk To Remember," you're in luck.

Welllll, you will still have to make pals with Shane West enough for him to invite you in for a spin, but he owns the car. So, it's a start.

West, who played the ruffian-turned-saintly beau in the 2002 sobfest, has revealed that he laid dibs on the '67 Camaro his character drove in the movie the first time he laid eyes on it. Speaking to The Wrap, West remembered how it happened that he bought the slick wheels day one on the set.

"The first scene that we shot on that film was pretty much the opening sequence of the film. Of daring that kid to jump in the lake, everyone driving up their cars together, and that whole party scene. Which was a great idea because it helped us bond - me and the other actors. 'Cause they had to be lifelong friends.

"And they started pulling out the cars one by one for each character, and they pulled out that '67 Camaro for me," West continued. "I turned immediately to the first AD, and I was like, 'How much is it?' and 'I want it. Don't let anyone else get it.' I used part of my paycheck to buy that car. So, I bought it, and I still have it."

Even though it's been more than a dozen years since he took the wheel of it on-screen, West still thinks it's important to make at least one change to the exterior before he can take it on the road.

"I have to change the color, though," he said. "I can't drive that car around. That's ridiculous. So, I am actually working on stripping it down and painting it right now." And now we have many mixed feelings.
