After a couple of hilarious (and action-packed) trailers and a very Marvel-esque new poster, we are officially ready for the arrival of "Ant-Man." These brand new photos of Scott Lang (Paul Rudd), Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly), Darren Cross (Corey Stoll), Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and more aren't exactly helping cure our Ant-Man-mania, but at least they're super fun, and once again remind us that this film will be stylistically and tonally much different from "The Avengers" franchise.
Let's dig in ant-style, shall we?
The villainous Darren Cross/Yellowjacket moves in on Hope Van Dyne.
That's a whole lot of science going on in the background... but hey, at least something tells us that Cross and Van Dyne's business partnership will end up being pretty short-lived.
Speaking of Cross...
Here's Scott Lang crossing his arms. Is he mentally rejecting Hank Pym's Ant-Man offer? Trying to decide which kind of takeout he wants to order? Wondering whether his Marvel-arms will live up to Thor and Captain America's? We'll have to wait and see, but either way -- Rudd definitely beefed up for this tiny little role.
Hope takes care of bzzzzz-ness.
The Yellowjacket battle suit looks pretty amazing when it's tiny, but something tells me you won't want to see Darren Cross wearing the damn thing when he's angry.
Hank and Darren throw shade.
Maybe Hank doesn't like what Darren is doing with his precious Ant-Man technology? Just a thought.
Ant-Man rushes into battle with his buds.
They're either fighting Cross, or they're very late to a picnic.
Scott and his Scoobies make plans.
They're clearly looking at blueprints, from what appears to be Pym's old man science lair. Are they plotting a move on Cross?
Hope is not amused.
Even a power suit and a great haircut can't cheer you up when you're dealing with a Yellowjacket.
Kurt is all smiles.
Who is Kurt? I'm not quite sure, but this presence of glasses, a computer, and a dingy apartment would definitely suggest a computer-hacker, good guy type.
Ant-Man stands victorious.
Could have told you years ago that man is no match for bug.
Ant-Man takes a second to appreciate the little guy.
Ant-Man goes for it.
Get that Thomas the Tank Engine, Scott.
Ant-Man needs a little help.
Happens to the best of us, guy.
"Ant-Man" crawls into theaters on July 17.
