Every single day for the past year, Mahomies have woken up to the same devastating truths: The sun will rise. The birds will chirp. And they will trudge through another excruciating day without any new music from Austin Mahone.

But ALAS — the time has finally arrived and the amazing has happened: Austin has released a brand spankin’ new track. Cue the confetti and sound the horns, because this is most definitely not a drill!

Late Tuesday night (May 26), the 19-year-old gifted us with a mellow, tender ballad called “Torture.” Over a synth-heavy arrangement, Austin croons about missing that special someone in his life (cough, Becky G, cough), lamenting that “every minute without you feels like torture.”

All we have to say to that is: SAME, AUSTIN. Same. Every minute without you releasing new music feels like complete torture. It’s been one year since the “Mmm Yeah” singer released his stellar EP The Secret, and we’ve seen no sign of “Dirty Work,” the track he announced in April as the lead single off his forthcoming debut album.

Thankfully, Austin has assured us that more new music is well on the way. In a sweet Instagram post accompanied by the track’s trippy, futuristic artwork, he wrote, “I produced this song and wrote it with Robert [Villaneuva]. I wanted to give you guys something for being so patient with #DirtyWork.”

Looks like Austin’s not only a considerate gentleman, but also quite the perfectionist. We’re sure his new tunes will be well worth the wait though!
