GULF SHORES, Alabama -- Kendrick Lamar has a busy weekend ahead of him. On Sunday, TDE's good kid will be a part of Taylor Swift's "Bad Blood" video premiere, but if he finds himself with any free time maybe he'll focus his attention on Gulf Shores, Alabama.
Surely he Kendrick remembers Hangout Fest, because we're still talking about his 2013 performance.
After Joywave ignited the Palladia Stage at the 2015 Hangout Festival, the indie rock band told MTV News about their big wish to collaborate with K. Dot. "If he's watching he should call us and we need to do a track together," lead singer Daniel Armbruster said on Friday, May 15. "We just say that every time, somebody let him know."
Why Kendrick, you ask? "Because he's amazing," Armbruster answered.
If you have a hard time imagining what a Kendrick and Joywave track would sound like, just take a listen to Lamar's latest album To Pimp a Butterfly where he stretches the boundaries of traditional hip-hop and blends funk, jazz and spoken word poetry into one of this year's most critically acclaimed albums.
Let us also remind you about the time he paired with Imagine Dragons at the 2014 Grammy Awards. Yup, Dot is versatile.
And if you aren't up on Joywave yet, you need to get familiar.
No seriously, get familiar.
