Watch Green Day Rock Their High School Quad In This 1990 Throwback Clip

The show was recorded just after they released their debut.

Before they were Rock and Roll Hall of famers, before they played to packed stadiums around the planet, hell, before Tré Cool joined them on drums, Green Day were just a trio of high school punks who were happy to get any gig.

And now, just days after they joined some of rock's greatest in the hall of fame, a 52-minute video of them rocking the commons at their high school has resurfaced and it is... awesome.

The show took place on May 10, 1990, at Pinole Valley High School in California -- from which singer Billie Joe Armstrong did not graduate, though bassist Mike Dirnt did. They're rocking hard on songs from their debut, 39/Smooth, released just one month before, and giving it their all on songs like "Disappearing Boy," "Paper Lanterns" and "1000 Hours."

What a difference 25 years makes. While crowds now lose their damn minds over the band, a lot of students passing between classes in the background seem kind of unimpressed and barely stop to listen.
