Adrianne Palicki's Mockingbird Might Be Leaving 'Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.' For Her Own Show

Are you ready for the 'Mr. And Mrs. Smith' of Marvel?

What does "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." have in common with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie? Aside from having a packed cast of beautiful actors, much like the Hollywood power couple, "S.H.I.E.L.D." also has a "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" thing going on with series regulars Bobbi "Mockingbird" Morse and Lance Hunter — and that dynamic could take on a life of its own with a brand new show.

Such is the word from Deadline, at least. They report that ABC is eyeing an "Agents of S.H.I.E.LD." companion series aiming for "a 'Mr. & Mrs. Smith' vibe," headlined by Adrianne Palicki and Nick Blood, the actors who play Mockingbird and Hunter. No further details known at this time, and no further details necessary to split my heart right in half.

On one hand, the idea of Mockingbird leading her very own Marvel show is… well, it's awesome. Palicki hit the ground running when she joined "S.H.I.E.L.D." earlier this year, adding yet another badass woman to the show that just might star the greatest roster of badass women on television. It's no small feat standing shoulder to shoulder with Melinda May, Daisy "Skye" Johnson and Jemma Simmons, but Palicki's Bobbi Morse pulled that job off and then some. (Seriously, she's very tall.)

So, how could anyone possibly resist the idea of Bobbi getting her own show? She's basically the Black Widow of Marvel Television. Who doesn't want that on a weekly basis? Thing is, we already have that on a weekly basis. Bobbi blends into the "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." cast seamlessly, and the idea of losing her there leaves you wondering what the show will look like without her in the picture.

The chemistry between Bobbi and ex-husband Lance is certainly strong enough to carry the weight of a new show. But do we need a new show with them as the heart, or are they fine where they are? In the end, I suppose it doesn't matter. If Marvel deems Mockingbird/Hunter worthy of their own spinoff series, you know I'm already there.
