Every year, Allure Magazine gets celebrities to strip down to nada and pose for a portrait, which is then featured in the magazine. This year's set includes Laverne Cox, who was reluctant at first, but then realized what a powerful opportunity it was for the communities she represents.

After turning down the shoot—twice!—Laverne explains why she came around, saying, "But I'm a black transgender woman. I felt this could be really powerful for the communities that I represent. Black women are not often told that we're beautiful unless we align with certain standards. Trans women certainly are not told we're beautiful. Seeing a black transgender woman embracing and loving everything about herself might be inspiring to some other folks."

"Might be," Laverne? You might be too humble, IMHO.

Allure also shared a behind-the-scenes video from the shoot, which includes advice Laverne picked up from Tyra Banks, what she eats for dinner the night before the shoot, and more. It's great—10/10, would recommend.
