Art Nerd Meets Prom King: We Cast The Rumored 'She's All That' Reboot

What is this, some sort of dork outreach program?

Although the news hasn't been confirmed, the rumor of a remake of teen romantic comedy "She's All That" is spreading like wildfire across the internet, riding on a powerful wave of nostalgia for the classic 1990s story of a dorky art student (Rachael Leigh Cook) and the popular jock (Freddie Prinze, Jr.) who accepts a bet to make her the prom queen.

According to The Wrap, the new "She's All That" will be produced by Tonya Lewis Lee (wife of director Spike Lee), with Kenny Leon directing.

There is, alas, nothing in the report about whether the remake will include a falafel hat.

Meanwhile, the question now is, who will star in this tale of transformation, romance, and dork outreach programs gone terrible wrong?

For starters, considering that the film's director has spent the past decade directing stage plays like "A Raisin in the Sun" -- both the Denzel Washington version in 2014, and the one starring Sean Combs in 2004 -- a diverse cast is almost a certainty (as is a possible cameo by Denzel as somebody's dad.) And with that in mind, we've rounded up a few good men, and women, who might be able to recapture the "She's All That" romance of the movie's lead couple.

For the new Freddie Prinze? We suggest...

Jacob Latimore

Last seen in "Maze Runner," Latimore is ready for his big break in a romantic lead -- and having worked with actors like Forest Whitaker, he could definitely hold his own and meet the demands of the movie's big-deal director or producer.

Tyler James Williams

AMC'

You probably know Williams best as Noah from "The Walking Dead," where not even a limp (and the world's most ghastly death scene) could entirely distract from the fact that he's a tall, hot drink of serious leading man material.

Dayo Okeniyi

Dayo has been a busy dude since he spared Katniss' life in "The Hunger Games," appearing in everything from indie hit "The Spectacular Now" to the upcoming "Terminator Genisys." C'mon: Give this guy his own movie and some kissing scenes, already.

And for the artsy duckling-turned-Queen Mega-Hottie? How about...

China Anne McClain

The singer and actress is mostly known for playing little-kid roles, but we think she's ready to take a step forward into the brave new world of teen romance.

Zendaya

Zendaya is no stranger to fluffy, fun movies, and she could own this role like a boss -- but let's be real, this is mostly about how fabulous the famously fashionable actress would look in that falafel hat.

Amandla Stenberg

Little Rue from "The Hunger Games" is all grown up, and she's got exactly the same sort of vulnerable beauty as Rachael Leigh Cook, who was so perfect as Lainey Boggs in the original film. Plus, the possibility of a full-on District 12 reunion between Stenberg and her "Hunger Games" co-star Dayo Okeniyi is just too damn good to pass up.
