One day, Bibi Bourelly, a 20-year-old musician from Germany, decided she would try to write a song for Rihanna while sitting in a Los Angeles studio. Late last month, that song was premiered by Rih Rih when she released "Bitch Better Have My Money" to some serious buzz.
"We had no idea [Rihanna] would actually ever hear it or do it," Bourelly told Noisey.
"It took us forever to get it to her, and when she did hear it, she thought it was cool," Bibi continued, speaking of the Deputy-produced track.
Besides "Bitch Better Have My Money," Bibi also wrote "Higher" for Rih Rih. And she knows how important these songs are for her career.
"Working with Rihanna has changed my life," Bourelly said.
But Rihanna isn't the only megastar to work with Bibi. Kanye West, who brought "Bitch Better Have My Money" to Rihanna, has also collaborated with Bourelly, according to the singer/songwriter.
And she recently posted an image of herself and Pharrell on IG.
While Bibi's grateful for the exposure she's obtained for her work with stars, she's even more excited to release her own material.
"People have not seen anything at all yet," she said. "I have some new music. Very soon."
