Rae Sremmurd may be young, but they've got words of wisdom.

"A Woodie is, like, when a girl walks by you and she makes you, like, really excited," Swae Lee said, clearly talking about the award that he and his partner-in-rhyme are nominated for at the mtvU Woodie Awards this Friday, March 20 at 9 p.m. ET.

"My first experience with a Woodie was amazing -- I'll never forget, ever," Slim Jimmy added, again, clearly referencing their current preparations for the Woodies, where they're nominated in the Artist to Watch category. "I'll tell my kids about it."

As for the wisdom they're ready to impart?

"My advice to somebody who hasn't gotten a Woodie yet: I would say just be patient, and just wait for your time, because everybody has their time," Slim Jimmy said.

That's an outlook you can apply to more than just your Woodie.
