The duo’s 2014 album, Cheek To Cheek, was a #1-charting success, and the two are riding out their stellar partnership with a string of live tour dates later this year as well as a highly anticipated performance at the Grammys on Sunday (Feb. 8).
And lucky for us, it looks like they’ve still got more surprises in store. In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Bennett gushed about the ARTPOP star and revealed plans for their sophomore studio venture.
“She’s a very good singer. She’s not a flash in the pan,” the 88-year-old icon spilled. “That’s why I had to do these great standards. And it’s really paying off because the album’s so big. Now we’re about to record an album of all Cole Porter songs. That’ll be the second album.”
The duet partners are no strangers to Porter’s songbook -- they already tackled his classic “Anything Goes” on Cheek To Cheek. The late composer and lyricist has a huge catalog of other hits to choose from, including “Night and Day,” “It’s All Right With Me,” and tunes from musicals like Kiss Me Kate and Anything Goes.
We can’t wait to hear what these jazz masters will bless our ears with next!
